Selecting between the three models is &#8220;quite difficult&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/repository.lib.ncsu.edu\/bitstream\/handle\/1840.4\/8413\/ISMS__1609.pdf?sequence=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Siswadi &amp; Quesenberry<\/a>) and the problem of testing which distribution is the best fit for data&nbsp;has been studied by a multitude of researchers.<\/p>\n<p>If all the models fit the data fairly well, many techniques are at your disposal to differentiate between models including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticshowto.datasciencecentral.com\/maximum-likelihood-estimation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">maximum likelihood method<\/a>&nbsp;and many different <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticshowto.datasciencecentral.com\/probability-and-statistics\/hypothesis-testing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hypothesis tests<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their similarities, there are some subtle differences between the Lognormal, Weibull, and Gamma distributions.
